On Sunday, September 16, Keshet parent, Dana Pinsel, and Midtown Athletic Club in Bannockburn hosted a special WERQ class benefiting Keshet. This community-building and fundraising event encouraged participants to grab their friends and try something new to make living a healthy lifestyle more fun while WERQing hard for a good cause. A $25 suggested donation was asked of the participants. A total of 70 WERQers participated and, together, they raised over $1,800 for Keshet.
Described as a crazy addictive cardio based hip-hop dance class, WERQ is a one-hour experience like no other. Repetitive with athletic moves and modern choreography, this fitness class will get you to WERQ up a sweat! WERQers of all abilities can participate in the high intensity fitness fun.
Dana, who organized WERQ, shared, “The event was great. So many friends came together for one purpose which was to support those with developmental disabilities in our community. Anything we can do to increase awareness and acceptance at this time is helpful.”
Thank you to everyone who participated! We hope to WERQ with you again soon.
