One of the best ways to pass the time (and we all know that we will have a lot of time on our hands in the coming weeks) is to let your inner creativity shine! What a better way than to create your own kind of magic...ART!
Many of you have art supplies at home and you don’t even know it! Cotton balls, Q-Tips, tape, and more can be used to help create works of art! Here are some ideas you can do with supplies in your own home:
SPONGE PAINTING 
Materials:
- Paper or Posterboard
- Paint
- Sponges
- Container for water
- Container for paint
- Scissors (if needed)
Directions:
- Cut sponges into various shapes (squares, triangles, diamonds etc.)
- Dip sponges in paint and dab them onto scrap paper to remove the excess paint.
- Use the sponges to create pictures on your paper.
- Specific pictures can be created or just fancy designs. It’s all up to you!
STRING PAINTING 
Materials:
- String
- Paper (cardstock or heavy)
- Paint
Directions:
- Start by adding a small amount of each color (about the size of a quarter), onto your large surface, so they are touching and forming a line.
- Lay your string across the paint and slightly twist so the paint covers all sides of the string.
- Lay the string across a piece of paper so the ends hang off the edges.
- Place a second piece of paper (the same size if possible) on top.
- Press down onto the paper as you pull the string back out.
TAPE WATERCOLOR PAINTING 
Materials:
- Paper
- Watercolors
- Brushes
- Tape
Directions:
- Place pieces of tape on paper to make a design
- Use watercolors to paint open spaces
- Dry painting
- Remove tape to see your masterpiece!
CHERRY BLOSSOM COTTON BALL PAINTING 
Materials:
- Cotton balls
- Paper
- Paint
- Brushes
Directions:
- Paint background and branches
- Use a cotton ball to dip in paint and make cherry blossoms!
- Or, Be creative and make any kind of picture using a cotton ball as your paintbrush!
