We are constantly awed and amazed by the generosity of our community.
Over the summer, one of our day school parents was speaking with a neighbor and they got on the topic of Keshet. The neighbor works at the CVS Caremark Operations Center in Northbrook. She was so moved by the impact that Keshet has on her neighbor’s life that she suggested to her coworkers that they include Keshet in their annual community engagement and giving campaign.
In August, a small group of CVS employees held a school supply drive for Keshet. They requested Keshet’s school supply lists so that they could be shared with employees who would purchase the items needed by Keshet students. The team at CVS approached us repeatedly to get bigger and bigger lists. They were confident that their coworkers would step up for Keshet.
And, step up they did! They fulfilled our school supply needs and purchased every sensory toy and puzzle you can imagine. We received boxes of markers, pencils, notebooks, backpacks, antibacterial wipes, tissues, glue, fidgets, crayons (including handmade crayons in the shape of teddy bears!) and enough kinetic sand to last us through the year.
The employees at CVS delivered the donations in person and were able to tour Keshet’s day school in Northbrook. Their generosity of spirit left such an impression on all of us. While we were blown away by their charitable giving, they only wanted to reassure us that they would do more next year. Each of them exemplified what it means to be a mensch.
The donations were made anonymously so we cannot individually thank each employee who contributed to Keshet. We hope they know how much we appreciate their donation and the difference it will make in the lives of our students and our teachers.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, CVS employees! We are so grateful to have you as our newest partner.
