This short article was written by Simcha Safran, Program Manager at Keshet's GADOL, to detail one of the many acts of kindness in which the adults of Keshet's GADOL Program continuously give back to the community around them.
The adults of Keshet's GADOL Program teamed up with Maot Chitim of Greater Chicago as volunteers assisting in packaging food for needy members of the Greater Chicagoland Jewish Community. Rosh Hashanah is almost here and the adults who attend Keshet's GADOL Program worked with the goal of assisting in making sure all members of the community can observe this upcoming holiday in a joyous and dignified manner. As they stacked boxes of tea, Shabbos and yartzeit candles and helped make boxes, they felt a sense of community unity and took the opportunity to do something for others who have a special need. Once the boxes are packed they will be delivered to over 4,500 households feeding over 12,000 people this holiday season. This is just one of the amazing opportunities that the adults at Keshet are fortunate to participate in, adding meaning and purpose to their own lives and the lives of others.
