The Sidney and Lisa Glenner Keshet GADOL Program
GADOL is designed to bridge the gap existing in community-based programs serving young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Keshet offers state-of-the-art programming and vocational opportunities under the leadership of a supportive staff of directors and specialists, all trained to enable adults with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential.
GADOL balances vocational/life skills training with the opportunity for socialization, recreation, and physical exercise to further increase our adult participants' overall quality of life. Utilizing both group and individual sessions, the staff provide daily living skills training (such as taking public transportation), a job readiness curriculum (interviewing for a job, getting ready for the workday, work/vocational skills, personal grooming skills, etc.) and sessions on setting and meeting personal goals and aspirations—goals that high functioning individuals would typically take for granted.
In addition to achieving paid employment, GADOL participants also have the opportunity to volunteer at various sites within the community.
GADOL also offers customized employment, a service that helps adult participants obtain personalized employment. Job placements are based on individual strengths, needs and interests, and are designed to meet the specific needs of the employer.
Customized Employment
The Crain-Maling Foundation Customized Employment Program matches the unique strengths, needs, and interests of adults with disabilities and potential employers. An extensive discovery procedure with both the employee and possible employers create a unique partnership that allows for the maximum chance for long-term employment and successful placement within the work setting.
